How to Find a Counselor for My Child

One of the questions we get the MOST from people is “How do I find a counselor for my child?” It’s an important question. AS adults, when we go to counseling, we’re ready to get to work. Kids…not so much. The right fit is incredibly important when it comes to finding a counselor for your kids. So, here are a few ideas we think can help:

  1. Ask your church, school, or pediatrician.

  2. Choose based on age and needs of your child.

  3. Make sure they have experience with kids and are NOT your counselor.

  4. Interview said person. Look for warmth and an ability to push when needed.

  5. Normalize counseling and get your child in the door.
